Dear Diary,
My birthday celebration at the Mission Hills Cafe last night was warm and wonderful. There were ten of us there and others in spirit. I'll have some photos up in a day or two. I ate three pieces of their homebread, a world favorite of mine. My entree was lamb navarin. I had a bean salad appetizer and strawberry crepe for desert. It was fantastic as always. Paula bought me a glass of wine! No one could hear anyone else but the temperature and the atmosphere were perfect for a great party time.
My daughter gave me a scrapbook she's been working on for six months. She made one for me, one for her father (who turned 60 in June) and one for my twin sister. As many of you know, she collected notes, cards and memorabilia, photos, etc., from people I've known since the time I was born. She gave it to me yesterday and I've had a great stroll down Memory Lane.
I lived so many different places and have been blessed with so many friends, whom I consider STARS IN MY CROWN (I have Moon in Libra in the 11th house trine Uranus in the 7th).
The most surprising entry ? ... you ask yourself (!!) ... Diane and Tom Bertrand. Diane baby sat for my daughter during her first two years on the planet when I had to return to work due to circumstances beyond my control (her father returned from VietNam in not such great shape). I cried for weeks every day at my desk when I had to leave my baby and go to the offic. Diane was just wonderful with both of us!! Diane taught my daughter how to talk, eat, potty trained her (with lollipops!) and Tom lay on the couch when he wasn't in Viet Nam tossing pillows at her and laughing. Tom often drove us home at night as I was exhausted and without private transportation. Tom and Diane returned to Menonimee, Michigan after Tom got back from active duty and we've not heard from each other since.
The other big surprise was my twin's sexy sexy boyfriend from Central Texas, LW. He didn't have the time of day for me in high school but somehow my daughter didn't know that and I got a short letter from him. This guy put Marlon Brando and Brad Pitt to shame he was so sexy and handsome. He should have starred in the movie, "And God Created Young Males".
Tomorrow night my daughter and some friends are taking me to Ruth's Chris for one of those great steaks. There will be one more celebration with my son-in-law on Wednesday night and that will conclude this year's festitivies in LeoLand.
