I've been playing tennis this summer, at least an hour and a half every day. Bought a new Wilson Hyper Hammer racquet and can't quite get my shots under control yet. It's a fantastic racquet for power. My daughter beats me every time!

I began playing tennis in high school and fancied some day I would be like Billie Jean King. My parents didn't have that much money so my sister and I mostly hit on the backwalls at the high school and never had any coaching or lessons. I played a little with my ex-husband when we were in college and dating but he was almost semi-pro level and I wasn't so it usually endede in someone being impatient with someone who wasn't as good :-)

In my mid thirties, I switched to racquetbsll which I still consider the best overall workout minute for minute that there is. I played with my neighbor Larry Manquero. It ruined my tennis and that's what I'm recovering now ... not to use my wrist like for racquetball slapshots but to use my arm differently. Slowly it's all coming back.

I'll let you know when I can rush the net again and when I can get a reliable first serve!
