July 26 is my birthday and in true introvert fashion, I like to celebrate it in a way that is meaningful to me. I love to meet with my friends one on one for dinner during the week before and after, so that I can touch bases, celebrate and really have quality time.

The celebrating began last week at the golf club with my friend of many many years, Jean, out here in Jamul. It was a lovely evening, beautiful warm night and lots of golfers still out on the driving range to watch. I had roast beef (of course)! because after all, it's my birthday.

Tomorrow night my dear friend Deb is taking me to see the Lippizaner stallions and I can hardly wait!!!

Thursday any one who'd like to come is welcome to meet with us for dinner at 6:30 at the Mission Hills Cafe (Dutch). If you'd like to join, let me know and I'll make the reservation. Mission Hills Cafe is located at 808 West Washington at Goldfinch. They have the best table d'hote menu and fresh baked bread in the whole world. That's why I picked the Mission Hills Cafe!!!

My daughter has a dinner planned for me at Ruth's Chris after the Fair at Soulscape in Encinitas next weekend. So, that's all the birthday news that's fit to print.

I'm glad I was born. I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you're here reading this (!) I especially have always loved my high summer birthday. It seems the perfect time to be born as I love the sun and the summer. Usually my crepe myrtle is blooming by now ... planted in honor of my grandmother Gertrude Stolterfoht Hale. But this year it got too dry for a few days and so it's blossoms will be a little late this year.
