It's health food time, one of my favorite topics. I took these Health Bars by my friend who had a quintuple bypass a couple of months ago. He had been eating junk food. I'm trying to show him how wonderful healthy food can taste!
RECIPE for Health Food Bars
2 cups corn syrup
1 tablespoon honey
2 cups natural peanut butter, preferably fresh ground
1 to 2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon (or more) cinnamon
2 cups naturade vegetable protein powder (available at health food stores)
3 cups oats, quick or old fashioned, pureed into a powder in a food processor
Mix the first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Stir in protein powder until the mixture becomes too stiff, then use your hands to mix. Add in oats; at this point upper body strength is required. The dough will be very stiff. After mixing, spread in any pan big enough and coat it with non-stick cooking spray. Refrigerate for at least one hour; cut into 30 bars, and place each into a Ziploc bag or store them somehow. They will remain fresh longer if refrigerated. Happy eating!
I tried LINDA McCARTNEY brand frozen health food (package by her husband Paul) ... my advice ... don't go there. The spinach mushroom pizza I bought was inedible and as everyone knows who knows me well, I'll eat anything. Actually I like Amy's brand.

Amy's Kitchen click through to learn more ... these are my 2 favorites.
Take my word for it, Linda McCartney's is not good food!
