What we are pleased to call illusion may be for the psyche an extremely important life-factor, something as indispensable as oxygen for the body. ... Presumably the psyche does not trouble itself about our categories of reality; for it, everything that works is real. -- Carl Jung

Sometimes when I can't have something I want in the outer world, I carry it on in my imagination and feel quite good. My subconscious mind doesn't know the difference. It's the same as when you take a guided meditation, to the beach, and body acts just like it IS at the beach.
