I've seen TROY five times now and it gets better with each viewing. I think Eric Bana deserves an Oscar. Especially fine is the scene where he inadvertently kills the boy Patrocles and discovers his mistake. Eric Bana in real life is a Leo. His Saturn and North Node are in Aries.
I also noticed the journey of the shell necklace for the first time (!) It travels from Achilles' mother to Achilles to Patrocles to Achilles to Briseis. We are in great conflict as to the approximate age of Patroclesm thinking he may be about 16 years old ??
Liz Greene, the world reknowned Jungian astrologer, has an interesting take on Achilles, calling him the "mother's son" in her book on myths and the star signs. In an interesting contrast to his Mars-like demeanor , Achilles sits sulking in his tent, waiting until Agamemnon "groans for him".

Speaking of Mars, there is a scene where Achilles sits sharpening his sword with a flintstone that is just unforgettable Mars! During this activity, Briseis says, "Your cousin was killed and now you have killed my counsein. When does it end." The reply? "It never ends."
I am especially enjoying watching the emergence of Odysseus (Sean Bean) in the movie. He is very pleasant to look at -- what a beautiful haircut (!) -- and his wily ways, that we know so well, are beautifully portrayed. His accent as he begins and ends the movie is just perfect.
I retiterate that the real star of the movie is the Trojan Horse. It is absolute magic.

It's not that this is the greatest movie in the world. It's just that this is one of the greatest stories in the world. 3,200 years old. Agamemnon, King of Kings. Priam, Ajax ... Hector, Tamer of Horses, and Brave Achilles. They are all there. Each generation deserves to retell it, contributing to the life of one of our most powerful myths.
FIXED STARS, NOT FIXED FATES an article by Nancy R. Fenn, has appeared in SELECTED TOPICS IN ASTROLOGY.

Looking back in time, this was my original comment on Astrodatabank about 911. I still think it's a good answer.
Thank you for providing this forum. This chart is all about communication. It's obvious but to briefly reiterate just a few of the major indications of this: Mercury at the Ascendant, the ruler of Mercury in Sag in the third, the stellium in the 9th including Saturn in Gemini, the Nodes across the 3rd and 9th, Mars in the third, Sun, Saturn and Pluto in a T square mutable.
Everything about this chart asks that the event be interpreted as a message, but symbolically. Any event that impacts worldview and our evolution needs to be interpreted symbolically as far as I am concerned because that is the only way we can try to read God's mind ... what will our future portend?
One unforgettable phrase has come to my mind as I contemplate this chart: In the trial preparation for the offender back in 93, I remember a TIME reporter speculating that the trial attorney would use as one of his defenses that the Arabs express themselves naturally with "fiery hyperbole". Fiery hyperbole is the very nature of their language.
This gives a rich and meaningful interpretation to the chart. The medium is the message. Timothy Leary's statement that is so irritating, yet so fruitful to contemplate is a good yardstick for interpreting this chart and it is the logical conclusion of contemplating this chart.
This event also graphically exemplifies some of the tenets of the great genius in language, Naom Chomsky and his work with transformational grammar. To wit, when one thinks long enough in fiery hyperbole, one expresses oneself naturally along those lines.
This is conceivably a diplomatic message (Mercury in Libra Rising. That otherwise puzzling Virgo Sun in the 12th ... perhaps this is a precise diplomatic message couched in Arabic grammar.)
The immediate result of the event is predicatable through Sullivan's Mars retrograde cycle analysis. It can be read as a war chart easily enough in that context. But I am interested in reading this in terms of evolution. What does this mean to us in our evolution ... that packed 9th house?? What does this mean symbolically.

His and Hers
I know this is going around but I liked it. I would like to add that if we really did change and do this, they wouldn't like it. It's the polarity that makes it work!We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side.
These are our rules! Please note... these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!
1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport.
And no, we are never going to think of it that way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every
question.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what
we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact,
all comments become null and void after 7 days.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are.
Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways
and one of the ways makes you sad or angry,
we meant the other one.
1. You can either ask us to do something
or tell us how you want it done.
Not both.
If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible,
please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for
example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea
what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will be scratched.
We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing,"
we will act like nothing's wrong.
We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to,
expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is
fine...Really.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss
such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or monster trucks.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round is a shape.
1. Thank you for reading this.
Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight;
but did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

Jimmy Fallon, turning 29, is leaving Saturday Night Live. This is his Saturn Return, no doubt. To learn more about the Saturn Return, click HERE.
I saw Troy twice now and thought it was marvelous. I realized those are the childhood stories of our European/American culture. These are the bedtime stories we told ourselves when we were very, very young. I was so amazed at how the characters had remained in my imagination all these years ... from four years of Latin in highschool. So here are my comments.
First of all, this is the face that launched a thousand ships, Diane Kruger.

The movie was directed by Wolfgang Peterson and reflects more European tastes. Notice the look of extreme vulnerability in Kruger's eyes, a constant feature in the movie. She was born July 15, 1976. You can certainly see the Cancer. What do you think her Rising Sign is? Scorpio?
Again, perhaps because a German made the movie, the pronunciation of some of the names is a little different than my daughter, a classics major, and I were used to. For example for Menelaus, instead of Men-a-lay-us it's Men-allow-us. And for Briseis instead of Briss-ee-us, it's Bri-say-us.
Achilles, played by Brad Pitt, was a fabulous Aries/Mars character. Absolutely unreflecting, vivdly alive and fiery. Pitt is natally a Sagittarian, the "other" fire sign. The scene where Achilles stands before the walls of Troy and summons Hector is unforgettable for its Arien nature. Some people say the fight that ensues is worth the price of the movie. Achilles' lines in the movie are leaden and one dimensional but I felt this fit his character. Aries never did foreplay. For example, when Briseis asks him in an impassioned way, "Someone killed your cousin, now you have killled mine. When does it end?" Achilles replies, "It never ends."
Peter O'Toole's eyes are incredible. He shows emotion so well.
Hector was terrific and carried the "Capricorn" tone throughout the movie. He berates his little brother Paris, who stole Helen from Menelaus, "What do you know about love? What about the love of your father and your country?" In this movie, there could be no better son than Hector. Paris is a weak character but the love of their father, Priam, redeems him in some way. Helen is just insipid aside from her great beauty, as if that didn't more than compensate.
Briseis was amazingly good. She has a way of looking out at everyone that combines intelligence, sensitivity and absolute toughness that makes her more than a good match for Achilles.
I also enjoyed the cameo appearance of Ajax, who was killed early in the movie (for those who remember Ajax in The Iliad).
My true favorite in many ways was Ulysses. He was marvelously portrayed by Sean Bean (Scottish accent and all) and we are secretly hoping Peterson is plannng a sequel called The Odyssey. A really wonderful thing in the movie is the Trojan horse, which Ulysses contribed. This horse in the movie is absolutely magical. It is alive with mana. The Trojan horse has been a symbol in the collective for two thousand years! It is beyond legendary and Peterson made an outstanding "horse". It was absolutely numinous. Sean Bean has certainly had some great roles and his role as Ulyssesis one of them. I think one's appreciation for the part he played relies partly on one's understanding of his place in the The Iliad and The Odyssey that followed. It is difficult to anticipate how this movie would be viewed by someone who was first introduced to the story in the movie theater as an "action film". All of the characters are given a broad brush stroke as well they should be since they are giants in the unconscious collective and in many ways need no introduction at all while on the other hand, are so huge in the collective that they are impossible to portray as real people. Most of this would be lost on someone who had not read these books in highschool and the characters might appear cartoonish or one dimensional. Those of us who were initiated at a young age will breathe life into them and must be given "room" to do so..

About the costumes, my daugher didn't like them but I thought they were quite wonderful. For example, when not in war gear, Princes Hector and Paris strode about in Aegean blue Mediterranean wear with artistic looking jewelry.

Achilles' armor was amazing.

For those who followed Roy Horn's mauling and read my article BROTHER TIGER, BROTHER BEAR, the second pass of Roy's Saturn Return is taking place right now -- May 14 through 22. We will look for some news about Roy in the next week!
Mark Ruffalo plays a darling introvert in the moving 13 Going on 30 that my daughter took me to see over the weekend. Not a movie I would normally see, I was delighted to find it was very flattering to introverts.

Here they are snuggled up on the couch.
When Jenna (Jennifer Garner) was 13, she treated her next door neighbor badly because he was an introvert and kind of a nerd. She lived to regret it and is basically given a chance to go back and change the past! The film shows the lasting qualities that introverts have ... sincerity, integrity and trustworthiness.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO ALAN GREENSPAN?

Let me go on record as being one person who is intrigued by the situation surrounding Alan Greenspan at the moment. He is up for reappointment as chairman of the Federal Reserve Board in six weeks. This event will take place during the Venus Retrograde. Here is Alan Greenspan's chart:

Notice that Saturn will be crossing his Ascendant during this time period as well. This first occurred in October 2003. Could it be the man is going to retire? Is that why the silence from the White House is defeaning?
You read it first here!
I've been working on an article about the cycle in the stock market which began in 1982 when Saturn and Pluto were conjunct in Libra. This began a new World Order in the economy and also in you. Where were you in 1982?
The article is still "in process" but you may want to take a peak. THE NEW WORLD ORDER: IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK
I include discussion and charts of most of the key players, including:
Bernard Ebbers, CEO WorldCom (1982-2003)
Alan Greenspan, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board (1987 to present) - anti-regulation; abetted repeal of Glass-Steagall Act
Arthur Levitt, Chairman of the SEC (1993-2001) - focuses on educating investors and curbing or reforming accountants, takes aggressive stance with bank regulation
Robert Rubin, Secretary of the Treasury (1995-1999); assistant to Sanford Weill (1999-time of writing this article) - mixed reviews in ethics
Eliot Spitzer, New York State Attorney General (1999-present) - Spitzer’s investigations of conflicts of interest on Wall Street have been the catalyst for dramatic reform in the nation’s financial services industry
Harvey Pitt, Chairman of the SEC (2001-2003) - volatile and controversial term reflecting the oppositional aspect under which he took office; reaped what Levitt sowed
Sanford Weill, head of CitiGroup - pressures Congress to repeal Glass-Steagall; gives IPOs to favored customers, pressures analysts for preferred ratings - a recent attempt to oust him failed
Jack Grubman, telecom analyst for CitiGroup's Salomon Smith Barney - together with Weill, perhaps the brains behind WorldCom; personifies the telecom stock analyst of the 90s
There are sections on the history and development of the stock exchange, the SEC, Sanford Weill's conglommerate and other institutions of interest.
I have analyzed -- and present -- a tremendous amount of data from events taking place beginning in 1982 and reaching a crisis point as Saturn opposed Pluto in recent years. This alone may be of interest to those who do astrological research.

My purpose in writing the article is not to "blame" anyone for the current state of affairs in business. That would be simplisitic and absurd. Periods of greed (and violence) surface in the collective at intervals -- of ten years it seems! Life and the American economy are far more complicated than that and deserve a much more serious look.
My purpose is to teach about the nature of cycles and the reaping of harvests so that we all learn to take seriously what seeds we plant. The havest may take a long time (this one: 38 years) and the seeds grow in the dark for a long time but the fruit ripens.
Of course there is the possibility that Bush may not reappoint Greenspan and that the silence is in retaliation to Greenspan's raising the rates last week (so close to an election) ... but that is very remote. I doubt there's anyone in America who doesn't think Greenspan is the man for the job. But does he?
The London Daily Mirror has admitted its photos of Iraqi prisoner abuse were hoaxes. I think this may also be about the press, as usual. With Pluto still making its way through the sign of Sagittarius, there is so much transformation that must take place in the media.
Thanks to a gentle infp reader, I found out the name of those beautiful trees I loved so much when visiting Phoenix! SWEET ACACIA!

It doesn't look that beautiful here but when those yellow puffs are spread out across the branches of the tree, they seem a softer yellow and it is beautiful other seasons of the year, too. I'm off to the nursery this afternoon to find one, just my size! I start all my trees very young. They do better that way. Here's a photo from a little corner of my yard.

This is My Special Angel. I also have a Zen Buddhist face and Quan Yin. I just love "yard art". I have these meditation corners in my yard.

Today in the mail, re Venus Retrograde ... "THE PAST FEW WEEKS/(months?) HAVE BEEN SOME OF THE MOST DIFFICULT IN MY LIFE (and, believe me, that's saying A LOT!). I've been doing everything I can to come out of this awful place I'm in as a better, happier, more psychically/spiritually, and physically whole person, but I welcome any help at all that you can provide. I feel like I'm taking a horrible beating; I understand that it's supposed to take me to the next level, but in the meantime all I really feel is beaten and broken."
The person who wrote this doesn't subscribe to Nancy's eZine or she would have a different perspective on this time frame.
Please, TELL A FRIEND. Subscribe to Nancy's eZine and be alert to the energies at hand so you can use them creatively.
Also this week: someone who was psychotic and hospitalized has been checked out under the guardianship of his mother who is well known to eat her young; someone else totalled their carm one of their last possessions, someone else got a DUI after his marriage broke up and he was out looking in bars for companionship and many people are having severe financial wakeup calls.
If I can be of assistance to you, please email me for an appointment. It's $55 for 1/2 hour.
My general advice is to get as centered as you can and avoid people as much as possible, remembering that the degree of disruption in your life will be relative to how far you have drifted from your core values.

Do you want this relationship and you're having trouble getting it stabilized? Consider getting a full astrological interpretation!
A client recently asked why she should get a full astrology reading and this was my reply. I thought you'd be interested.
Dear XXX,
Your astrology report will be about 20 pages long and covers all aspects of the situation -- you, him and both of you together as a unit -- the why of him and the why of you and what will be the best strategy. There are many factors to consider and I thought it would be helpful because if you want this man, it is going to be a bit of a process, of that I am very sure.
I have been able to help people in situations like this to discover the best strategy ... one that comes to mind was a young woman named Naomi, about 38, who fell in love with Larry. I had been reading for Naomi for at least eight years. It began when her brother, who was a private pilot, had a terrible plane crash and was permanently disabled. Naomi came to me when she first met Larry and I knew right away this was the man for her. She has been betrayed in an earlier relationship and had been having a difficult time getting over her rage and trust issues, but finally she was ready to try again.
I explained to Naomi it was going to take about 3 years and what the process would be like. She called me for support when they broke up one time, which I had warned her about -- and several other times during the course of things.
Well, it's been a little over three years and they got married last December and have bought a home -- of course she called me to tell me the good news. and to thank me. We laughed about what "might have happened" so many times along the way had she not had the heads up.
I feel this had a happy ending because she did follow the suggested strategy very closely, in spite of emotional times and desires to get angry and trash the whole thing. At those times, she called for support instead and I reminded her of the strategy. (The strategy is unique and different in every case, by the way, ahd sometime there is none possible but I will tell you that if I find it so.)
I am not guaranteeing anything here but I am telling you what can happen sometimes in a good team effort with someone who "sees more" in situations than is sometimes obvious. I also have a great track record for helping people with their romantic lives. It's just a gift I have always had.
This is not my ego speaking but a detached observation. I have been reading for people for 25 year and have a record that is analyzable.
In situations where the person does not follow the strategy fairly closely or simply does not have the depth of love or patience necessary .. .I think depth of love gives the gift of patience, really, don't you? :-) - it is always possible to use free will and end all hope of a happy ending. There are some things people can do even in a good match that are unforgivable and which can't be retrieved. Sadly, I have had clients do this as well but I feel God always gives them another chance with another good match later on, after they think over what happened and learn from it. Perhaps they just weren't ready.
I haven't looked all the way through this so I also can't say for sure yet that there is a strategy in your case -- I really won't know that til I do all the research -- but it looked so from a cursory examination of many of the factors. I truly believe you two will be together but there will be, in your case, I know, at least three fairly major ups and downs, possibly four. You can and would get used to them as I can tell you approximately when they will come, etc.
As for the report, one like this will take at least a week. There are many factors on both charts to consider and I have 3 reports ahead of yours at the moment. It's an art so I can't rush it. It doesn't work to do that or you will get the kind of advice a friend would give you :-) well meaning but general. The advice I give you will be specific and detailed.
You can read more at this page : COMPOSITE AND SYNASTRY RELATIONSHIP READING and it also has the link to paypal. If you want to go ahead, just click for the Composite and Synastry Relationship Chart Interpretation reading and as soon as I have payment, I will notify you and begin.
Two questions:
Is there any way to get his birth data?
Do you have any photos scanned that I can sed (it helps tune in)?
Nancy R. Fenn
Would such a reading be of value to you now or during the Retrograde?
Email me for an appointment, please.I guess I should tell you why TROY is so exciting to me. Latin was my best subject in high school and it really anchored me in a world that was otherwise not very pleasant. For a view of what most introverts feel about high school, check out the PASTTIMES SURVEY. I personally consider it the nadir of my life. It was all up from there.
I was fascinated from the moment I began Latin. It was my first language in high school and I took four years of it, later followed by French, Germand and Russian. Eventually I scored the highest score in the nation on my Latin achievement exam for college entrance. I really loved it. I was very proud of this achievement and am to this day. Even at the time it amazed me.
I remember poring over Caesar in Gaul and other things, understanding so little of the setting but trudging along. Where i Troy anyway? And who are the Trojans? And who is Menelaus, Agamemnon? In the Latin fragments that we have, they just pop onto the scene, like we're all supposed to know who they are. And never once was a map presented. Of course they didn't discover that Troy was real and where it was until after my high school days.
I remember the very beginning ... the actual words of Caesar. All Gaul is divided into three parts.... Imagine those are his real words all these years later. I can't imagine being a Latin teacher and laying that out awesomely in front of students each year. It is such an initiation ... into the whole world of classis that builds a common bond among all those with a liberal arts education.
As you know with Latin, you can only translate 2 or 3 sentences a night. It is like code-breaking for a long time ... it never got easy for me but I loved and still love a challenge. All of us in class would sweat buckets if we hadn't prepared, fearing we would be called on and put on the hot seat, because there is absolutely no way to fake it in this subject. A student could never come up with a translation impromptu because it takes 15 or 20 minutes to parse the grammar, look up the meanings and then render it into something that sounds like idiomatic English.
When Charlie Brown prayed in class, "Don't call on me and I promise I'll change my evil ways," I always thought of Latin class.
I sat behind Terry O'Malley, an adorable Irish kid who had been going to Catholic schools up until then and really didn't know what to make of the girls in the room. And there was John McDonough who was such a schmooze. He probably went into burrough politics. Then there was the really nerdie guy who carried a brief case to school (unheard of) and the big game was for someone to take his briefcase and pass it around the room while he wasn't looking, which he never was. I know ... I never did get adolescent humor, never having been an adolescent myself. Last but not least, there was the guy behind me who won the Harvard Book Award that I felt should have been mine, had I but been on the male persuasion!
The Latin teachers were formidable. Both our teachers had PhD's even for teaching at a high school level. Dr. Monaghan was so funny. We knew we could get him off track by asking him what it was like to teach at the private school where he used to teach and that worked for half an hour several times a week. We thought we were pretty clever. Dr. Drake was intimidating -- a woman PhD in those days! She loved torturing us but was a great spirited person. In a class full of nerds -- who else would be taking 4th year Latin -- this group picked mercilessly on ine of the students who was strange even by introverted standards!! One day, Dr. Drake sent the girl on an "errand" and berated the class for their cruelty and forbid them to ever treat someone like that again. It was a high moral moment in high school.
As an infp, of course I never teased anyone. I was always just an onlooker and I felt this girl's pain often as she was mercilessly teased. I don't think she had a friend in the world. I admired Dr. Drake for this. If there is anything to teach or learn in high school, it is what it means to be a human being.
So, that's why I can't wait to see TROY. I will at last have a chance to get the cast of characters straight in my mind and to see the flow of action that to me was just one choppy sentence at a time. Do you know how many different ways there are to say sword and shield?!?!
God bless Wolfgang Peterson for doing this. I can't wait to see the movie. It is wonderful to have people who are still interested in carrying on the liberal arts traditions and wouldn't you know it would be a German.
DO THEY KNOW WHO YOU ARE? DO THEY KNOW WHO WE ARE?>

Brad Pitt as Achilles

The slave girl Briseis and Achilles (I remember Briseis caused quite a problem during the war ...)
Diomedes, the King of Argus, fell madly in love with Briseis. Briseis was the daughter of the priest Calchas. Calchas managed to get Agamemnon to ask King Priam for Briseis, and the Trojan king had her escorted to the Greek camp by several of his sons. Diomedes fell in love with her to such an extent that he tried to kill her betrothed Troilus every time they met on the battlefield.
Agamemnon and Menelaus
Hector

Hector and Paris
Helen's abduction by King Priam's (Peter O'Toole) son, Paris, was the cause of the war
Priam also ransomed Hector's body from Achilles.

Hector and Andromache and Hector, Jr. (?)
The movie critics say it is worth it to see the movie just to see the final fight between Hector and Achiles.
The Greek gods are not featured in this retelling of Troy. To brush up on the story, you can visit NANCY'S TROY.

My daughter Hadley and I had the perfect introvert's Mother's Day. The two of us took the ferry over to Coronado and walked around, people watching, had a leisurely latte, and headed back home. She is very sweet to me that way, understanding my quiet desires! Here's a photo with the corsage my son-in-law gave me on my wrist.

Being a mom was one of the most rewarding things in my life! I love to celebrate Mother's Day. The night before I went to La Traviata and it was just an excellent production of one of everybody's favorite operas.
It'S not too late to order your Venus Report. Venus goes retrograde May 17. The step up in violence around the world is a "signature" of VRetro -- the Aztecs waited until then to declare war. It is often associated, unfortunately, with violence and also with domestic violence.
According to Erin Sullivan, an expert on retrogrades, the degree of difficulty you experience under the retrograde is an indication of how far you have drifted from your core values. For some, a dramatic course correction is in order.
This applies to both men and women. Order your Venus Report HERE. When I received word, I will contact you for birth data.

Does Venus Retrograde mean DUI's?? Venus goes retrograde May 17 through June 28, 2004
No, of course not, but this is the path of least resistance for energy sometimes when there are major unresolved issues in a person's life. I have heard of three very serious DUI's (all DUI's are serious, as we know, but these were big wake up calls) from clients of mine around the country....
We can unconsciously use traffic, drinking and driving and car accidents to wake us up, hopefully "in time" and without involving others, but instead, why not meditate more, seek counseling if appropriate or call me for a reading if you feel pressure building and if you feel yourself or someone near you getting out of control or anxiety ridden? Unresolved issues can make us feel like eating or drinking compulsively, or driving in a way that draws negative energy toward us. You can read more in my article cited below, KAR KARMA. I can help you move a lot of energy around very quickly in a reading. It might save you from some major grief.
If we work things out internally, if we become conscious about our issues, they do not have to appear externally as "fate".
THINGS ARE HEATING UP
Don't kill the messenger. You know I don't make the rules, I am only interpreting them. And I am in the unique vanguard postion of hearing from large numbers of people all over the world on a daily basis about what is really going on in their personal lives, in readings, on the phone and via internet. This is what I'm hearing as we draw closer to the Venus Retrograde that starts May 17, in just 11 days. I didn't wish the negative things on these people and do not wish them on you but we can learn from others' difficulties and challenges ourselves to be more conscious. If we resolve our issues internally, we do not have to experience them externally as "fate".
THE GOOD
As we move nearer to Venus Retrograde, just 11 days away, I'm hearing a steady stream of major events from my clients all over the world. Some are good: ending relationships which are outworn, moving in together, buying a house together, making marriage plans, old flames calling to reconnect, relocation decisions, decisions about having children. One woman has been using the internet dating sites and has gotten to know a man in Boston well enough that he will be coming to visit her in Texas on the first day of the retrograde, to stay for ten days. He hopes to return with her to Boston as his wife! This is very intuitive timing, isn't it?
VENUS RETROGRADE GREAT TIME TO FIND TRUE LOVE
Regarding love and romance, the internet dating sites I recommend are www.match.com and www.eharmony.com and www.tangotype.com You can ALSO learn more at this URL: SENSITIVE DATING TIPS.
THINKING ABOUT VALUES
People are thinking seriously about their relationships and that's right on target for Venus Retrograde. Another man has gotten a dog after waiting for more than 5 years after the tragic death of a former dog, for whom he felt very reponsible. He played ball with his dog on a busy street and the dog chased the ball into traffic and was killed. He really grieved over his negligence and the loss of his pet. Now he feels ready to be responsible.
INNER VS. OUTER
During Venus retrograde, the amount of trouble we experience is relative to how far we are, in general, from our core values. Since our values change as we do, it might be time to make some adjustments in your life. The man with the new puppy, for example, had decided he was now ready to be a more responsible pet owner. He took a week off work to be at home and available for his new puppy and spent two weeks before that pet-proofing his large backyard. He understands the value of a pet now, through all the heartache of his former loss, and he is ready to be responsible. His values have changed.
THE BAD
On the negative side, I'm very sorry to say that, as well as the three DUI's, I've heard of a fatal motorcycle accident, two teen agers cutting themselves, and a man in recovery whose wife has left him because he isn't a good drinking buddy anymore.

Read KAR KARMA to increase your awareness of how we can use accidents unconsciously to resolve serious life issues. Also of interest is this article, WHO'S THE BEST (AND WORST) DRIVER?
AND NATIONALLY
In the national news there are two women prominent in a negative sense, General Janis Karpinski and Lynndie England, both implicated in the infamous "photos" from Iraq prison and an absolute embarrassment to everything women have been seeking professionally for the past twenty five years.
You can read more about women's issues during Venus Retrograde and the eclipse on June 8 in my article VENUS AND POWERFUL WOMEN.
Also nationally the president of Chechnia has just been assisinated in a bombing incident. The Aztecs used to declare war when Venus went retrograde and I'm afraid it can be a very violent time, nationally and as regards domestic violence.
THE ANSWER
Events bubble up to the surface for release of unresolved issues. If you feel yourself getting out of balance, pull over to the side of the road in every sense of the word, though I am speaking symbolically. The energy between now and the first of July will onLy become more intense and should serve as a wake up call to everyone to meditate more, seek counseling if appropriate and by all means CALL 619.669.0605 or EMAIL ME for a reading.

VENUS RETROGRADE
The first real evidence I see of the negative side of this Venus Retrograde transit and eclipse is the odious behavior of a woman who may be accused of war crimes I think, for the first time in America's history and that is
Lynndie England,
the woman who tortured some of the prisoners in Iraqi, whose picture has been on the front pages of newspaper and all over the internet.General Janis Karpinski
comes close behind. I saw this when women first entered the work force in the mid 70's. They dressed like men and swore like no men I had ever worked around. They were rude and behaved dictatorially, again, like no successful men I had ever worked with -- thanks to Women's Lib at that time. They were doing a poor imitation or parody of the worst aspects of men although they didn't realize this, they mistook it for power ... like England and Karpinski. If we really want equal rights and access to power, we must imitate the best characteristics of men, not the worst.

Troy is coing and of course I can't wait!!! A classics lover from DayOne, I've heard this story a mllion times and never get tired of it. A favorite is when my daughter, Hadley, tells it to me. TROY is coming May 14th.
"Less of a literal adaptation of Homer's The Iliad than a respectful re-imagining by director Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot) and screenwriter David Benioff (The 25th Hour) that eliminates Zeus and company from the story while placing Achilles (played by a bulked-up Brad Pitt) front and center. Eric Bana is a valiant Hector, Orlando Bloom is a less selfish, more conflicted Paris, and German-born newcomer Diane Kruger is an appropriately stunning Helen. Surprisingly talky for a $200 million (yipes!) production. But the Hector-Achilles showdown alone is a must-see." (Believe me, I can't wait.)

AMANDA CRAIG (British of course) has a great BLOG where I found this reassuring statement, for those of us who like the older guys ....
Quote: It appears that the concept of "male menopause" is a myth. While the female menopause undoubtedly exists, the stroppiness of the middle-aged man has nothing to do with declining levels of testosterone. According to Professor John McKinlay, a leading authority on men’s health who last week caused huge controversy at the British Fertility Society conference in Aberdeen, drug companies are cashing in on a false notion that men need hormone replacement therapy to boost their flagging sex-drives. Where women’s fertility declines dramatically after 35, that of men drops off at less than 1%. Having studied 1,500 men in Massachusetts, the Professor has concluded that the decline in sex-drive, muscle tone, and feelings of depression and sweatiness of middle-aged men are due to unhealthy lifestyles. Heart disease and diabetes are the real culprits, and ... [drug treatments to buffer up] supposedly drooping levels of testosterone is “a therapy in search of a condition.”
Hmmm ... this seems to make a lot of sense.
It's FEMME FATALE Month, beginning with the Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on May 4 and climaxing with the Venus Retrograde and Venus Eclipse of the Sun in June.
In keeping with the tone of the times -- leave it to the creative types to be so intuitive -- The Costume Institute Gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art last week featured a Dangerous Liaisons theme in fashion and furniture from the 18th century. Here are some of the femmes ... dressed appropriate in black decolletage and so forth.

Anne Heche, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lopez (flanked by Dolce and Gabbana, my favorites!) dressed up for Dangerous Liaisons.
Remember the movie, Dangerous Liaisons from 1998?

Had and I went on the Tall ship last weekend for a simulated cannon battle at sea. It was unspeakably marvelous. I've been reading John Keegan's THE PRICE OF ADMIRALTY [SEE MY JOHN KEEGAN WEBPAGE] and, having carefully reviewed the diagrams of the Battle of Trafalgar and several online simulations, still didn't have a "feel" for what went on in battles at sea.
Now I know! The afternoon included a sail around the harbor with 43 other passengers -- what brings together a group like that at $45 a pop ?? ! -- and a crew of about 15 of the happiest people you could possibly imagine. I saw first hand how they hoist the sails, some of the commands, the dialogue between the Captain and the First Mate. The Gunnery Officer was interesting, too.
I heard some of the terminology pronounced for the first time ... I read so many British sea novels as a kid, or Polish if you count Josef Conrad.
Here are some photos of The Californian, the ship from 1843 that we went out on. Naturally this was long after Admiral Nelson's time but it gave me some idea of the motion of the ship (elegant) and the expertise required to maneuver into position to fire at close enough range. In the two hours we were out, this event occurred about 5 times.
I'd do this again in a minute. San Diego supposedly has a good collection of tall ships and other museum-ed items. Naturally the weather was perfect. The people on this ship were having a ball, the volunteers. It's a great way to spend your time and learn more. There were two women and they did pretty well. They were both pretty stocky people -- have to pull all those ropes and lines. Perhaps you have no idea how much rope is on a ship like that!!!

Darillo has a great set of shots @ DARILLO SHOTS OF TALL SHIPS IN SAN DIEGO HARBOR.
WATERSHED IS A GROUP I wanted you to know about ... in case you like making great new friends online. Their community in Winnipeg, Canada, has been together for about 15 years, meeting weekly in what they call " a school of formation" to consider and apply the insights of literature, spirituality and cultural studies.Their desire to connect with a broader community of dialogue. This led them in 1996 to share their perspectives and experiences with others at WATERSHED ONLINE. Since then, they have been encouraged, enriched, humoured and sometimes even frustrated by their dialogue partners. Their readers definitely keep them from becoming ingrown!
I thought you might want to stop by WATERSHED ONLINE and take a looksee, as we used to say in Texas.
