I went to the doctor yesterday. The last time I was there in the very small waiting room, I was subjected to overhearing a girl on her cell phone trying to calm down her unmanly hysterical boyfriend ... if I had a bf like that I SURE wouldn't be wearing it on my sleeve.
Yesterday there were signs all over "Out of consideration of other patients, please refrain from cell phone use throughout your visit here." I went out of my way to thank the office manager before I left. That's my policy. I want my businesses and services to know how much I appreciate this policy. More places are adopting it every day.
The office manager told me she had just gotten back from NY and had attended a Broadway play. Someone's cell phone went off during the peformance. Bless their hearts, they stopped the show and explained to the guy how rude he was.
Personally I would have enjoyed some tar and feathers, too.
There were some cell phones that went off during the Wagnerian operas in Chicago but I don't think anything could have ruined my enjoyment. I was pretty euphoric the whole time.
