I love the way Christine Payne-Towler describes the Wheel of Fortune from the Tarot Deck ...

shown to the right in a modern French deck>

This card is modeled on a rolling wheel, so what looks up will be down soon, and vice versa.

Perceived correctly, this force is akin to the great washing machine of life. If you can put up with the churning, the rinse cycle and the final spin, then the end result will leave you restored, like new.

It's a challenge to keep your composure in mid-cycle, however, because the part of you that prefers control can feel helpless. Wait and watch, and as you do, try to absorb and understand the process.

Just remain patient and go with the flow. Nothing is final yet, so why be pessimistic?

Perhaos there is someone who needs this message today.

When I was much younger and dabbling in the esoteric arts, I had a Tarot reading to see if I should get more serious about this field of endeavor. "Oh look," she said, "the Wheel of Fortune! The little wheel within you is aligned with the big wheel in the sky." And the rest, as they say, is history.

This card is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of benevolence and good will.
