Dear Ginger,

I was so fond of Ray. I think everyone was. What I mean is that he was special. Of course he was a brilliant, accomplished, successful lawyer; an honest-to-goodness leader in the bar, not just a person newspapers say that about.

But to me he was also a very good guy -- fun, good-natured, full of humour, loyal, helpful, not stuffy. A great human being. I miss him particularly. He was very good to me.

The funeral was beautiful but I half smiled, half cried every time the organist played. I thought of Ray singing and all the times I sang with him.

Sheila and i send our love and our prayers.

Bob
