My Aunt's New Cat : Destiné, by Clair J., age 7, Paris, France UNICEF

ISTPs, called THE ARTISAN by Keirsey (www.keirsey.com), are masterful with tools, whether it be a basketball or jet engine. They remind us that we are Man the Toolmaker! From an early age, they show an ability to manipulate the tools in their environment. Kerisey also calls them THE TOP GUN or VIRTUOSO for this ability as well.

Also see TypeLogic. In earlier classiciations they would be members of the DIONYSIAN group, called ARTISANS and Sanguine.

Where Keirsey and TypeLogic differ in assigning famous people to categories. I have used my own intuition.

FAMOUS ISTP ARTISANS:

WOODY ALLEN
TOM CRUISE
MICHAEL DOUGLAS
CLINT EASTWOOD
KATHERINE HEPBURN

12.20.2005 It was very painful growing up as I was very shy.  I ventured out of my shell in college.  I still like to be around people, but in doses.  I still don't like to entertain people in my home (private space) but I do -- one person at a time is all I can bear.  For a long time I thought I was an extrovert with low self-esteem/self-worth but once I took the test and found I was ISTP I accepted that I'm just a social introvert.  Interestingly, I find it harder to 'penetrate' the shell of other introverts.  But high-keyed extroverts drive me crazy.

9.09.2005 Damn we ISTP never share our thoughts. Istp foruns are usually empty! -- Nick, age 28
