Dear Mrs. Garrett,

When I was chairman of the NASD in 1978, one of my greatest comforts -- and pleasures -- was in having Ray there. The clarity of understanding, the quick wit, and laughter were his hallmarks. I shall miss his presence and wanted you to know.

"I lost a World -- the other day!
Has anybody found?
You'll know it by the row of stars
Around its forehead bound.

A rich man - might not notice it --
Yet to my frugal eye
Of more Esteem than Ducats
Oh, find it -- Sir -- for me!"

I know you too will miss him.

Sincerely, David Mesker
