Dear Mrs. Garrett,

On behalf of all of us here at Harvard Law School, I want to extend sincere condolences to you and to the other members of your family over the death of your husband on February 3. Mr. Garrett was among Harvard Law School's most distinguished alumni, and I know that he will be deeply missed, not only by his classmates and many other alumni, but by the entire legal profession. We will remain grateful for all that Mr. Garrett did for Harvard Law School and will remain proud to count him among those who were students here at the school.
