Dear Gordon:
This is in response to your letter of last week, thanking
me for my attendance at Ray's funeral service.
As you know, I was very close to Ray when he worked
at the Commission, and I share with all of you a deep
sense of personal loss. I would not have missed his
funeral under any circumstances. I particularly want
to thank you and the members of your firm, for extending
so many courtesies to me, making the day a little more
pleasant than it would have been under normal circumstances,
and for making my attendance at Ray's funeral so convenient.
The S. E. C. had asked that I write a small remembrance
for Ray, reflecting his days at the Commission, and
I have done so. I thought that you might want to see
a copy of what I sent to the Commission.
It was good to see you, and I hope that our paths will
cross often, but under far more favorable circumstances.
Warm personal regards,
Sincerely
Harvey L. Pitt
