Garrett, Jr.
born
August 11, 1920 - died February 3, 1980
Ray Garrett, Jr., had
a great passion for the law. He was an ethical, intellectual and
moral force to all who knew him.
He said, "It is
the law that makes organized life possible."
Ray loved the law,
history, Shakespeare, Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories,
King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, Robin Hood,
the Yale Glee Club, the North Shore, singing in the Barber Shop
Quartet, the Episcopal Church and a good day of barbecuing chicken
on the grill.
Ray Garrett wanted
to be remembered as being "a good, effective, honest, thoughtful
chairman, who did more good than harm." [Taking Stock, Vol.
2, No. 3, March 1974]
He is survived by
a sister, four children, five grandchildren and two great grandchldren.
