FILM REVIEWED BY DONNA DEAL, a reader

I believe that Steven Speilberg is an introvert (most directors
are...) because of the content of many of his films:for example-
"ET," Elliot is an introverted child whose
odd ways are not questioned because of his personality- that's
how he manages to hide the ET. And love finds a way. Odd to
think of this introverted director cranking out the action-packed
Indiana Jones films, but think about it: Jones himself is
an introvert -- archeology is a solitary occupation; all the
interruptions of others in his life (in the films) annoy him.
Spielberg's masterpiece is Schindler's List. This is
a feast for introverts: the remembering, the introspection,
the undying hope, the music, the visuals -- introverts are
completely touched and moved. Most extroverts can't sit still
long enough to get the full impact.
Schindler's
List portrays the horrendous experience of the holocast
through the eyes of Stern (Ben Kingsley), Oskar Schindler's
accountant, trying to survive the introverted way. Schindler
himself is an introvert who has learned to play the game of
power, and has a "conversion" experience during
his time of employing Jews in his munitions factory.Schindler
finds himself pulled into the lives of the oppressed, imprisoned
Jews in his factory. Powerful. He undergoes a full transformation
as he begs for forgiveness from the people he used, and even
then is given a full measure of grace. Even the music in this
film stirs the introvert spirit.
This
is the incredible spiritual film that changes lives in a way
that Mel Gibson couldn't touch in his Passion of the Christ,
NOT a film for introverts. Much too disturbing....
