Nancy on the way to the Cossack Concert in St. Petersburg

Little did I know what awaited me was a fantastic, super professional dance group giving one of the greatest performances I've ever seen.

I should have known because St. Petersburg is the cultural capital of Russia and dance is a passion with Russians. Still it was a surprise.

I heard many versions of folk songs I loved on our trip, including KALINKA everywhere we went but alas, many of them were performed as if they were a bother. THIS GROUP did a fantastic "Dark Eyes"! This group even did KALINKA with a creative passion. Below are some scarf dances. I wish the camera could have done them justice, it was so beautiful.
