I do YOGA 2-3 times per week at lunch, cycling twice a week at lunch and weights once per week. At 50 years old, it keeps me thin, muscular, flexible and young.

the body.

10.20.2004 rate your health: good
what kind of exercise works for you and why: yoga - it makes me calm, grounded, and give me silent time. also, it makes my muscles strong. i also like to stretch and dance gently because i am grouchy if my muscles and body don't feel fluid. i like long walks in the city or countryside, where there is plenty to look at, to build my endurance. i like to walk alone, but for peace of mind i like my partner with me when the area is not safe.
been able to improve your health through diet: yes! i eat mostly organic foods, i avoid refined sugar, and i eat a balanced diet. i was raised italian, and as someone who doesn't eat cow, i didn't get enough protein. i added in legumes, lots of fish, organic chicken and eggs, and i feel great. keeping my blood sugar balances helps a lot with avoiding the drained/overstimulated feeling i get when out and about sometimes.
anything else you would like to share: figure out your natural rhythms and honor them. its ok to look at self-help books, talk to others, and listen to your medical professional. but deep down, YOU know what's right for you, and that's what you need to do for your own optimum health.
what form of diet and exercise would you recommend: i recommend anything that makes you feel good emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
health problems if any: in the past i suffered from allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue etc.. i healed almost all of them when i started to recognize that i am not like my extroverted family and i need to take the space i need for me.
