FLower
A marigold, I believe. Not immediately thought of, but appreciated by those who look past the roses.

Animal
A cat. I'm quiet, a loner, and I enjoy my freedom and space. I like peole, but when I've had enough, I leave.

Body of Water
A quiet stream hidden in the back of a woods or forest. Not a tourist attraction and not much to just look at, but playing and wandering the banks, discovering crawfish, footprints, the sighting of a heron before it takes flight....these are all things that require time to see, not just a glance. No, a person can never become the stream or be a permenant part, but joining in the serenity is the reward for those who take the time to try.

Color Bill Clinton
The same color as the shine of his nose.

President Bush
The same color as the hair behind his ears.

Queen Elizabeth II
An elegant, pale lavendar.

Intensity
"I think too much," is a common complaint. I'll look too deeply into a situation, arguing if photographers have more fun than attorneys, questioning what"fun" means and how that was to be determined while my group complained that we only needed to write comparitive sentences in Spanish.

Anything else
I hate people ordering me to smile. An entirely different issue, but it exists, none the less.

Intensity
I am so glad I read this because I thought I was alone in my intense...intensity. There is this deep, boiling well of passion inside of me, but because I am very introverted and shy around people I'm not comfortable with, I have trouble expressing it. Sometimes I feel like I will surely explode, my intensity added to my strong sensitivity to emotions and people. When I come home from school, I don't even know where to begin. But I have to say that I do in fact like my intensity - I wouldn't be me without it, and life would be so boring and bland. Not many people know of this intensity about me, but several have given me odd stares, telling me that I am eccentric. I take it as a compliment.

Intensity
At one point , I consulted a couciler for personal problems.  She is now my best friend...I often ask her why people avoid eye contact with me; why they seem, not afraid, but almost cautious.  She always says it so ironically, "Your too intense!"  One day while walking to greet her, she started giggling.  I asked her, "What's so funny?" "Intense!" Other than that, intensity may explain why I quiet a room when I walk in.  I am NOT bragging, it can be very unnerving to me sometimes.

Intensity
Everyone that I know eventually claims that I am tooooo intense.  Actually I am pretty laid-back most of the time but when I get involved - look out!  To them, it appears that I have endless emotion, energy and strength.  For example, although I am 52 years old and suffer from severe back problems, I can usually work my construction crew into the ground when we need to get something done.  Does matter how hot, how cold, how hard the work, few can keep up with me.  I can argue a point till the cows come home and will still be arguing it when it is time to milk them.  Of course, what they don't see is the escape to solitutude that I need when I am tired of interacting with the real world.  The truth is that work doesn't tire me, nor do in-depth conversations about a myriad of topics.  What tires me is a shopping trip at the mall.  Guess what - I love Lands End and LL Bean catalogs.

O don't think anyone besides myself has complained that I am too intense. Sometimes I think life would be easier if I was not so intense, but then I think life would lose so much meaning. I like seeing and experiencing intensity in others . . . it's comforting to recognize what is me in someone else. And I feel like other intense types are the only ones that will really get me and know where I'm coming from. And they're the ones that I can finally talk to about what I consider the stuff of life-starting a conversation about one of my musings with a non-intense type is usually answered with a "huh" and a prolonged silence. . .

Flower
A marigold, most definately.. though at times perhaps a snowdrop, a tulip, or a sunflower.

Animal
A penguin or a rabbit.

Body of Water
I would certainly be the sea, though the part of the sea would vary depending on mood.. I believe I'm mostly sea fairly far from land in a temperate area.

Color Bill Clinton
He's a rather garish and ugly gray.. certainly not grey.  Orange also comes to mind - bright and distracting orange, slightly tinged towards brown.

Color Bush

Bush is grey-blue, with occasional tinges of medium purple and bright red.

Queen Elizabeth II [new category in honor of UK visitors]
Deep royal purple and grey.

Tony Blair [new category in honor of UK visitors]
A darker blue and sort of grey-brown.

Famous person from history

J. R. R. Tolkien, possibly Mary, Queen of Scots.

Teeth grinding

Intensity
I am very intense, and I love it.  Most people don't understand my intensity or seem uncomfortable with it - especially intensity of emotion.  I'm very blessed to have a best friend who is perfectly suited to me and very much like me.. most people seem uncomfortable with feeling or expressing intense love for their friends, but she feels as I do, which is most excellent.  Intensity does get in the way sometimes, though, when I feel much more strongly about something than do the people around me, and I am rather shunned for it, or it causes me to react too strongly for the situation.  Overall, though, I value intensity, especially intensity of emotion.

Anything Else
The form of a metaphor survey has really gotten me thinking about synesthesia.. I can get feelings and colours from people, characters, and inanimate objects, and wonder if that's not a synesthetic trait.  I'm rather a cross between an infj and an infp, so I found this form very amusing and perfectly suited to me - but now I wonder if synesthesia is most common among infs.  It seems possible.. we /are/ the telepathic ones, after all.

Intensity
My emotional intensity allows me to be very expressive in music.  I play the piano very well.  Many people have commented on how beutifully I express the music I play.  Often when I play, someone will come and say they were moved to tears.  Others who are not infp's but very accomplished pianists have told me they wished they could play like me.  I read beyond the notes on the page.  When I hear some others play the same piece it seems flat, non-expressive.  I enjoy that part of myself.  My ability to interpret emotion in music is "intense" and great.

I have always been intense. I hate being told to relax. It is not posible for me to relax. I can't just stop feeling and obsorbing energy. I have come to understand that is why most of the time I feel like both a healer  infp and a counselor infj. I am intense because the world is intense and since i can feel things across time and distance. I have learned to ignore people who tell me to relax. It is a useless suggestion.
