I
put an "X" on the extroverts. They are excited,
engaged, involved and moving towards the experience with their
bodies.
The
introverts on the right are pulling away from the experience.
They are equally intense in their reaction but it is an inner
experience.
The
boy on the far left, also an introvert, is showing a common
reaction of introverted children in crowds. He's covering
his ears!
Introverted
children can become overwhelmed with stimulii. Too much noise,
light, motion and interaction can be exhausting. Sad to say,
the local Hallowe'en Carnival or church Christmas Pageant
... even their own birthday party ... can be uncomfortable
and even miserable experiences for introverted children.
